What is the Overlaid Widget?

The Overlaid Widget is one of the two ways that the Widget can be installed on your site.

It is a self-contained overlaid module, positioned above the page.

The Overlaid Widget allows End Users to interact with the App in the same overall way as the Inline Widget, but with some notable differences due to it being positioned above the page, rather than incorporated into it.

Desktop experience

When the width of the browser window is greater than 490px, the Widget Window is positioned slightly above the Widget Trigger. If Featured Content is active, the relevant Content Items are presented in the Featured Content Window, itself also positioned slightly above the Widget Trigger.

Please note: Whether the Widget Window is hidden on page load depends on its settings and whether Featured Content is active.

Mobile experience

When the width of the browser window is 490px or less, the Widget Trigger is always positioned to the right of the viewport and the Widget Window, when visible, fills the whole browser window.
